GuardianX Privacy Policy

GuardianX ("we", "our", or "the app") is an emergency safety application designed to help users quickly contact their emergency contacts during an emergency.

1. Information We Handle

Depending on the features you use, GuardianX may handle the following information:

• Location information: Your device's location may be accessed when an emergency feature is used so that your emergency contact can receive your location.
• Emergency contact information: Names and phone numbers of contacts that you choose to save as emergency contacts.
• Phone information: The phone number of an emergency contact may be used to place an emergency call.
• SMS information: GuardianX may use your device's SMS capability to send emergency messages to emergency contacts. GuardianX does not read your personal incoming SMS messages.
• Notification information: Notifications may be used to deliver emergency-related alerts.
• Account information: If you create or use an account, information associated with that account may be processed to provide GuardianX services.

2. How We Use Information

Information handled by GuardianX is used to provide and improve emergency safety features, including:

• Sending emergency alerts to your selected emergency contacts.
• Sharing your current location with your emergency contacts when you activate an emergency feature.
• Placing emergency calls to contacts you have selected.
• Sending emergency-related notifications.
• Providing account and emergency-contact functionality.

3. Location Information

GuardianX may request access to your device location when an emergency feature requires your location. Location may be included in an emergency message or notification so that your emergency contact can determine your approximate location.

4. SMS and Phone Permissions

GuardianX may use SMS functionality to send emergency messages to contacts selected by you. GuardianX does not use SMS permission to read your personal incoming messages.

GuardianX may also use phone functionality to place an emergency call to an emergency contact selected by you.

5. Emergency Contacts

You control which people are added as emergency contacts. Their information is used only to provide the emergency communication features of GuardianX.

6. Third-Party Services

GuardianX may use third-party services, including Firebase services, to provide authentication, cloud data storage, notifications, and related application functionality.

These services may process information as necessary to provide their respective services.

7. Information Sharing

GuardianX does not sell your personal information.

Information may be shared with your selected emergency contacts when you activate emergency features, such as an emergency alert containing your location.

Information may also be processed by service providers that are necessary to operate GuardianX.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled through GuardianX. However, no electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the applicable GuardianX functionality or as required for legitimate operational or legal purposes.

10. Children's Privacy

GuardianX is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate authorization. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us improperly, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
